Resonance is a training company based in London and led by Louise Kerr whose excellence depends on a small team of hand picked associates.
We are all professional performers and have long track records in teaching vocal skills and in corporate training. Several of us met whilst studying for the globally renowned MA Voice Studies from Central School of Speech and Drama.
Working across the UK we offer a range of courses for educational and public sector establishments, corporate sector companies and individuals.
Our highly adaptive approach can be tailored to meet most needs. In the last year, for example, we have tailored courses for newly qualified teachers, civil servants, corporate executives, chambers, doctors, social workers, call centres, and university academics.
We have also taught young people involved in the theatre and public speaking and others in need of interview skills.
Louise graduated in English Literature and followed this with a post graduate qualification in performance from Guildford School of Acting. She has an MA in Voice Studies from the Central School of Speech and Drama and was also finalist in the 2003 British Voice Association"Van Lawrence" Prize for her paper on single gender training for public speaking.
As a television voice expert she appeared on C4's hit show 'Faking It' building the vocal confidence of a young would be video director. She was also the onscreen voice and movement coach to a string of celebrities in the Channel 5 series 'Celebrity Swap' changing the gender, race, class and age of the likes of Melinda Messenger, Mike Reid, James Hewitt and Linda Robson.
As the founder and Director of Resonance she currently coaches and trains in industry and education running courses for, amongst others, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and many other public sector organisations and educational establishments. As an actress her performance work took her to the Royal National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company and many of the country's repertory theatres.
Sasha has worked for Resonance for 6 years. She is the voice tutor on the Access to University course at Clean Break and has worked as a voice trainer with ex-offenders for CAST. In 2008 she completed a Vocal Process voice training course with Gillyanne Kayes.
She is currently devising an anti-bullying policy for use in the adult learning sector and has this year completed the NSPCC Prevention Of Bullying course, and the City & Islington College’s Equality and Diversity course. Sasha is an experienced professional singer and performer in Theatre, Television and Radio.
Having begun working professionally as an actress at the age of 16, she continues to fit in television and theatre appearances between training workshops. She works regularly with Wonderful Beast Theatre Co.performance work took her to the Royal National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company and many of the country's repertory theatres.
Heather has had a long career as a singer in professional Opera, Theatre and Music Theatre. In 1988 she was a finalist in the Sydney Metropolitan Opera Awards. In 2001 she completed the MA in Voice at the Central School of Speech and Drama.
Together with her corporate coaching activities through Resonance she is an Associate Tutor at Surrey University where she has taught singing and voice since 2004. She is also involved in a variety of research projects exploring voice and emotion with Dr Frank Millward at Kingston University. She has been an external voice and performance examiner in various institutions and taught Phonetics training for Vocal Process, London. She continues to perform professionally.
She is appearing at the Norwich Festival in spring 2011 in 'Dining with Alice'.
Edward has worked in drama-based corporate training for many years as facilitator, role-player and coach. He was born in London, read Law at Exeter University and then trained at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. His theatre work includes many leading regional theatres, the National Theatre, the West End and recently with the acclaimed Punchdrunk company.
He won Best Actor at Edinburgh. He has a wide variety of tv and film credits, and his recent voice-over work includes The South Bank Show. Radio work includes four series of the popular comedy Like They've Never Been Gone.
With vast performance experience in theatre and television, Jill returned to further education, completing a Law Diploma in 1991 and training as a Barrister. She has had extensive experience as a facilitator of drama based roleplay training since 1995 and has led many workshops around various senior management issues.
Jill also works with Scenario and forum theatre with experience in scenario based workshops, using a mix of learnt script and forum facilitation. She is qualified to administer and feedback MBTI (OPP); and qualified to administer Emotional Intelligence.
Ros graduated with an MA in Voice Studies from the Central School of Speech and Drama and was awarded the Certificate in Speaking Skills from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She trained as an actor in Manchester and has worked in Film, Theatre and Television. She has trained and facilitated in Communication Skills for GP’s, psychiatrists and medical students at many of the major teaching hospitals in London and in Cambridge.
Her voice teaching has taken her to several leading London drama schools - Central, RADA, The London Centre for Theatre Studies, MD2000, and she works regularly at Mountview Theatre School. She also works with professional actors as an Accent and Dialect coach in film and television; most recently, ‘School for Seduction’ and ‘The Glass House’. Ros also coaches in presentation skills and pubic speaking and teaches Spoken English Skills to professionals who have English as a second language.
